Kilt Photo Contest
Good Morning! Things Celtic is pleased to announce a "Show Off Your Kilt Photo Contest". Here's how it works; please read carefully: - Send us a picture of yourself wearing your favorite kilt. This can be any kilt; doesn't even have to be one you bought at Things Celtic. Traditional kilt or modern kilt! Send your photo to kimberly@thingsceltic.com, with "kilt photo contest" in the subject line. Please be sure to include your full name, phone number, email address, and what category you'd like to enter. - There are four categories: "Funniest", "Best Formal Look", "Renn Faire" and "Unusual Location". Be creative, but please keep the pics "safe for work", okay? ;) - We'll upload the entries to photo albums on our Facebook page. Then, our Facebook friends get to vote on the winner of each category! Winner will be determined by the number of "likes" each photo receives.The photo with the most "likes" in each category at the end of the contest wins. - The winner of each category will be awarded a $20 Things Celtic gift certificate. - Again, use your imagination! Ladies, don't feel left out - you can enter this contest, too. If not a traditional kilt, send us a photo of yourself wearing a Scottish kilted skirt. - The contest is open now, through St. Patrick's Day (Mar. 17, 2011). Utilkilt Farewell
Three years ago Things Celtic was the first Celtic store in the nation to sign on as a Utilikilt retailer. It was exciting to be selling the most popular new kilt product available. The comfortable and practical cotton kilts were a perfect match here in Austin. In those three years we sold over 875 Utilikilts! We have kilted hundreds of men here in Texas and shipped kilts from Alabama to Alaska. Utilikilts have become so popular, that the makers in Seattle are having problems keeping up with the demand. Over the past year they have chosen to focus on their web site and their festival sales and have cut back on the retailer program. Unfortunately Things Celtic will no longer be able to stock Utilikilts at our store. Of course we won’t leave you unkilted and Things Celtic is now the first retailer outside of Virginia to carry the new NationKilts from The Kilted Nation. The NationKilts also feature a cotton blend fabric, pockets and an adjustable waist snap closure. We are stocking NationKilts in sizes 30” to 52” and prices start at $160. For Things Celtic, NationKilts should fill the gap left by Utilikilts. At this time we do still have over 100 Utilikilts in stock and we will be continuing to sell them until our stock is depleted. Utilikilts at DragonCon!
I am happy to announce that Utilikilts will be returning this year with a booth in the Exhibition Hall at DragonCon!

Utilikilts of Seattle, Washington will be on hand at DragonCon to assist con-goers in ending the reign of Trouser Tyranny! Everyone is welcome! Be sure to stop by the booth and meet some local (and long distance) Utilikiltarians, get fitted, and revel in the freedom of unbifurcated garments. The booth will open at 1:00 pm on Friday.
